Grapek Bates traces its roots to the original Grapek Company, founded in New Jersey in 1927. From its early years in Newark, later Union, and eventually Westfield, the company built its reputation around supporting manufacturers with dependable and innovative finishing equipment, parts, and practical technical guidance.
What began as a regional source for spray finishing equipment grew into a broader industrial partner, helping customers choose, maintain, and service the equipment that keeps production moving.

Over the years, Grapek Bates has expanded from a local equipment supplier into a multi-location, regional resource for engineered finishing, process, dispense, and transfer equipment. The company’s East Earl, Pennsylvania, distribution center now combines a stocked warehouse, service center, fabrication shop, and testing/demo lab, giving customers access to more than products alone.
That growth continued with Bates Finishing Supply joining the Grapek family in 2016, strengthening the company’s reach into New England. In 2023, Grapek Bates added the finishing equipment portion of Rochester Industrial Supply, extending its support across the Northeast and bringing more experienced team members into the organization.
Grapek Bates is a regional industrial partner that can support all manufacturing outfits, big and small. In-house teams dedicated to engineering, field service, in-house service, installation and start-up, full regional sales representation, and customer service allow Grapek Bates to provide turnkey engineered solutions to all of our customers while providing reliable and timely service on spare parts and distributed product.
