SurfPrep 5" PSA Backup Pad (No Hole)

A back up pad, also known as a backing plate on a sander, serves as a platform for attaching sanding pads and other accessoories. It provides a surface for the abrasive to adhere to (either PSA or Hook & Loop) and also offers cushoning for smoother sanding and better surface contact. Backup pads help evenly distribute pressure, reduce vibrations, and even improve access to difficult-to-reach areas. The PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) pads are meant to be used with Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (sticky) backed abrasives for flat sanding.

NOTE: Having a cracked, worn, or damaged face on your PSA backup pad could prevent proper adhesion of the sanding disc. This may cause inconsistancies in sanding pattern and performance. It is advised that you replace your backup pad if you have any of these signs of wear.
