What is a pad saver? Exactly what it sounds like - it saves your backup pad from wear and tear. The pad saver is a thin, durable layer that fits between your backup pad and your abrasive, helping to prolong the life of your sander and reduce replacement costs over time.

Why use a pad saver? Whenever you're sanding with flat abrasives - like film, screen, or paper abrasives - a pad saver is essential. It prevents premature damage to your backup pad, improves your sanding expierence, and helps your tool run smoother and more efficiently. It also reduces vibration and helps prevent "sander hop".

When can you skip a pad saver? If you are using a thicker foam abrasive, you dont need to use a pad saver. Most thicker foam pads provide the necessary "cushion". However, many professionals will still use a pad saver on their sander full-time, so they are always protected.
