SurfPrep Backup Pad (No Hole)

A back up pad, also known as a backing plate on a sander, serves as a platform for attaching sanding pads and other accessoories. It provides a surface for the abrasive to adhere to (either PSA or Hook & Loop) and also offers cushoning for smoother sanding and better surface contact. Backup pads help evenly distribute pressure, reduce vibrations, and even improve access to difficult-to-reach areas. The standard Hook & Loop pads feature smaller hooks designed for quick-release performance, making them ideal for use with SurfPrep foam abrasives.

NOTE: Applying excessive pressure can cause the "hooks" to wear at a faster rate. It is recommended to apply gentle, even pressure to reduce friction and heat on the pad saver.
